Includes classification and delineation <br />of wetlands by state, county, ecoregion, and watershed. <br />Location and identification of wetlands may be useful in <br />planning flood storage areas, estimating peak flows from <br />runoff, evaluating erosion control potential, and in <br />multi-purpose floodplain planning. Knowledge of where <br />the uplands are located will be valuable in disasters to <br />facilitate planning transportation routes, <br /> <br />Graphical and computerized. Maps, overlays, and aerial <br />photographs are available. 11ap scales are 1:24,000, <br />1:62,000, and 1:100,000. Computer records will be avail- <br />able in early 1979 summarizing acreages of wetland classes <br />by state, county, ecoregion, and watershed. Wetland Ana- <br />lytical Mapping System is being developed to digitize wet- <br />land data and will have capability of printing maps, <br /> <br />Classification of Wetlands and Deep-Water Habitats of the <br />U.S., Operational draft, National Wetland Inventory Pro- <br />ject, Sto Petersburg, FL, October 1977, Available from <br />address below. Brochure is in preparation, Product <br />dissemination system is currently being developed to be <br />operational by December 1979.
