No. 125 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 31, 1979 <br /> <br />R E ~ 0 L Q T I 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled <br />"Floodplain Information Report, wPite River, Sulphur Creek and <br />Sanderson Heights Drainageway," dated June, 1978, has been prepared <br />by Merrick and Company at the request of the Town of Meeker, Rio <br />Blanco County, and the Colorado water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report de~cribes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of county Commissioners of Rio Blanco <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate ,and approve the floodpl~in areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-t06(l}, ColOrado Revised statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flooo damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sections 3l-23~201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide th~t such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning ~egulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runOff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-~06(1) (e), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Coloraoo Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or flOOdwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations ava~lableto legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of ~e Board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and apprOve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood(in~ermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular mee~ing assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 3lst day of January, 1979, tnat it does hereby designate and <br />} approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated <br />by a 100-year flood as described bY the floodwater surface elevations <br />and profiles in said report; and <br />
