WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Analyses, Coal Creek and Roc~ Creek, Boulder and Weld Counties,
Colorado," dated October, 1976, has been prepared by the United States
Soil Conservation Service at the request of Boulder County, Weld County,
Coal Creek Water Users Association, ,the Urban Drainage and Flood Control
District and the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm gnd floodwater runoff channels or
basins of th~s.t~4y area; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder County,
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County and the Urban Drainage
and Flood Control District have requested the Colorado Water Conservation
Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the
aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973,
'requires the Colorado Water Conservation. Board to assist in the pre-
vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and .

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses On or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such
designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the
Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas inundated

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this
19th day of January, 1977, that it does hereby designate and approve
as floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a
100-year flood as set forth in said report; and
