SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION

A.

When Contractor considers the entire Work ready for its intended use
Contractor shall, in writing to Owner and Architect, certify that th.!
entire Work is substantially complete and request that Architect issue
a certificate of Substantial Completion. Within a reasonable time
thereafter, Owner, Contractor, and Architect shall make an inspection
of the Work to determine the status of completion. If Architect doe:;
not consider the Work substantially complete, Architect will notify
Contractor in writing giving his reasons therefor. If Architect
considers the Work substantially complete, Architect will prepare and
deliver to Owner a tentative certificate of Substantial Completion.
There shall be attached to the certificate a punch list of items to be
completed or corrected before project completion and final payment.

PARTIAL UTILIZATION

Use by Owner of completed portions of the Work may be accomplished
prior to Substantial Completion of all the Work subject to the follol/ing:

1. Owner at any time may request Contractor in writing to permit
Owner to use any part of the Work which Owner believes ready and
necessary for operation. Architect shall issue a certificate of
partial utilization prior to operation of said portion of Work.

2. No occupancy of part of the Work or taking over of operations of
a facility will be accomplished prior to compliance with the require-
ments of paragraph 5.06.A in respect of property insurance.

FINAL INSPECTION

Upon written notcie from Contractor that the Work is complete and thclt
all items on the punch list have been completed, Architect will make a
final inspection with Owner and Contractor and will notify Contractor'
in writing of all particulars in which this inspection reveals that
the Work is incomplete or defective. Contractor shall immediately
take such measures as are necessary to remedy such deficiencies.
