II

A. Authorization

This study, covering the storm drainage aspects and flood hazard

area delineation for McIntyre Gulch, was authorized under the terms of

the contract between the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District

(U.D. & F.C.D.), the City of Lakewood, and Hydro-Triad, Ltd., dated
January 14, 1977. The notice to proceed was given on the same date, but
the contractual period for the study was indexed from the receipt of the
blueline prints of the mapping on January 25, 1977.
The participating or sponsoring governmental agencies for this study
are the U.D. & F.C.D. and the City of Lakewood. The mapping of the basin
was accomplished under separate contract between the U.D. & F.C.D. and
Bell Mapping Company. Excellent cooperation and assistance was provided
throughout the study by Lakewood and U.D. & F.C.D. staff as well as the
S.C.S., U.S.G.S., and G.S.A. (Federal Center) personnel.

as stated in Section 37-60-106 (1) (c) of the Colorado Revised Statutes
1973. Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this report is to present the flood hazard area
delineation for the major drainageways of McIntyre Gulch. The hazard area
is delineated for the 100 year recurrence interval flood with future basin
development and present drainage facilities. The information will

The scope of work for this report can be summarized as follows:

(1) Define the topographic and land use features, as well as the

hydrological and hydraulic aspects of the McIntyre Gulch drainage basin.

(2) Identify and tabularize the flood hazard information in terms of

flood plain and floodway data.

1
