<br />Costs for damages to public facilities otr.er than buildings and cleanu pco,ts were nOI
<br />estimated by the Corp,' flood damage computer model. These damages were based on
<br />a percentage of the total structure and content damages estimated using tile model. The
<br />percentage was based on previous Omaha District sludies and was determined to be
<br />approx;imately 11 pr:rcenl of the damages to buildings and their conlents, Likewise,
<br />emergency-related COSlS were detcrmincd to be 6 percent of the damag es 10 buildings and
<br />their contents, These percentages were used for all flood eventS examined, Table 4-5
<br />show, Ihe eSlimated damages in the 3 study reaches and the 17 subareas for variou, flood
<br />events, and the estimated annual damages (EAD) for each of the reaches and subareas
<br />and a total EAD for the study area of $658,700.
