A Master Drainage Plan for Grand Junction was prepared in 1974 by Nelson,
Haley, Patterson and Quirk, now Arix Engineers (Reference 13). The
results of the hydrologic analysis of Indian Wash in that report differ
slightly from the results of this study. The differences are attributed
to different study techniques and different assumptions concerning the
retarding effects of the Government Highline Canal.

Other published data include a Flood Hazard Boundary Map for Grand Junc-
tion (Reference 14).

This study is authoritative for the purposes of the National Flood Insur-
ance Program; data presented herein either supersede or are compatible
with all previous determinations.

7.0 LOCATION OF DATA

Information concerning the pertinent data used in preparation of this
study can be obtained by contacting the Natural and Technological Hazards
Division, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Building 710, Denver
Federal Center, Lakewood, Colorado 80225.

8.0 BIBLIOGRAPHY AND REFERENCES

l~/
/

2.

3/
/

4.

5.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Federal Insurance
Administration, Flood Insurance Study, Mesa County, Colorado (Unincor-
porated Areas), January 1978

U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration, Environmental Data Service, Monthly Normals of
Temperature, Precipitation, and Heating and Cooling Degree Days
1941-1970, Asheville, North Carolina, August 1973

U.S. Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District,
Report on Flood of June 6, 1958 on Indian Wash, Grand Junction
and Vicinity, Colorado, August 1958

Upper Colorado Region State-Federal Inter-Agency Group, et al.,
Flood Control, Upper Colorado Region Comprehensive Framework Study,
Appendix IX, 1971

Colorado Water Conservation Board
Water and Related Land Resources:
Denver, Colorado, May 1965

and U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Colorado River Basin in Colorado,

6.
