On Jar.uary 3. 1984 I spoke with Terry l~artin, City Manager of the Town of
Dolan,s. In regard to the north side lJf the Dolores River above the 4th
Street Bridge. he said that the Town is in agreement vith our plans t.o build
the djke as shown on our dravings 71-438-1441 and 71-438-1503. copies of
which had previously been sent to the Town.

As to the south side of the river abOVE! 4th Street, he stated thal: this land
was not part of the Town of Dolores and approved whatever arrange"ents the
USBR makes with the landowners in that area. Our surveys show that the top
of the existing dike in the area of th.. Shields and Yancey residences may be
as much as two feet lower than the lev..l of the 100-year flood in some
places. I had previously met vith eraj.g and Eula Yancey and Bryce Shields to
discus, this situation. They stated that illthough the existing dike may be
too 10" to contain the 100-year flood that they prefer that the USBR not.:

Street. I spoke with Eula Yancey on Januaty 3, 198! and she confirmed that
this 1:; their position regarding the dik'l.
