The maximum increase in SFHA width, approximately 275 feet occurs
approximately 250 feet west of Havana Street, just downstream of where Westerly Creek Overflow
diverges from Westerly Creek. Although the floodway data presented in the FlS report for Westerly Creek
have been revised, this revision does not affect the width of the floodway within the corporate limits of the
City of Aurora.

The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 0180 E, Profile Panels 35P
and 35P(a), and 68P, and the Summary of Discharges Table and Floodway Data Table for Westerly Creek.
This LOMR hereby revises this panel of the effective FIRM dated August 16, 1995, and the Flood Profiles,
Sununary of Discharges Table and Floodway Data Table in the FIS report, also dated August 16, 1995.

A LOMR was issued for the City and County of Denver, Colorado, on the same date as this LOMR to
incorporate the results of the revised analyses into the FIRM and FIS report for that community.

The following table is a partial listing of existing and modified BFEs:

Location

Existing BFE
(feet)*

Modified BFE
(feet)*

Westerly Creek:

Approximately 850 feet downstream of Havana Street
Approximately 400 feet downstream of Havana Street
At Havana Street

none
5,434
5,435

5,431
5,432
5,435

Westerly Creek Overflow:

Just downstream of divergence from Westerly Creek
Approximately 1,000 feet downstream of divergence
from Westerly Creek

none

5,431

none

5,421

*Referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum, rounded to the nearest whole foot

Public notification of the revised BFEs will be given in the Aurora Sentinel on or about May 22 and
May 29, 1996, A copy of this notification is enclosed. Any request for reconsideration must be based on
scientific or technical data. In addition, a notice of changes will be published in the Federal Register.

Because this LOMR will not be printed and distributed to primary users, such as local insurance agents and
mortgage lenders, your community will serve as a repository for these new data. We encourage you to
disseminate the information reflected by this LOMR throughout the community, so that interested persons,
such as property owners, local insurance agents, and mortgage lenders, may benefit from the information.
We also encourage you to prepare a related article for publication in your community's local newspaper.
This article should describe the assistance that officials of your community will give to interested persons
by providing these data and interpreting the NFIP maps.

The revisions are effective as of the date of this letter; however, within 90 days of the second publication
