<br />PART I <br /> <br />The Secretary of the Interior's <br />STANDARDS FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROJECTS <br /> <br />The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects are the <br />required basis for State Historic Preservation Officers and the Heritage Conservation and <br />Recreation Service to evaluate Historic Preservation Fund grant,assisted acquisition and <br />development project work proposals for properties listed in the National Register of <br />Historic Places, <br /> <br />The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects are used as <br />the basis for advising other Federal agencies under Executive Order 11593, and <br />evaluating reuse proposals submitted with State and local government applications for <br />the transfer of federally,owned surplus properties listed in the National Register. <br /> <br />The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects (Standards for <br />Rehabilitation) are also the program regulations used by State Historic Preservation <br />Officers and the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service to determine if a <br />rehabilitation project for a certified historic structure qualifies as a "certified rehabilitation," <br />pursuant to the Tax Reform Act of 1976 and the Revenue Act of 1978, <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />.."
