Geological Survey has estimated the peak discharges <br />to be 1610, 2760, and 3720 'cfa (reference 3). Weiland <br />Engineering Company estimated the 1923 flood for Oak Creek to <br />be 11,250 cfs (reference 4). <br /> <br />Based on the numbers presented above, it is reasonable <br />to assume that large floods will occur in the future on the <br />Arkansas River in the Florence, Colorado area. <br /> <br />Flood photographs are presented in Figure 2. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />~ Many floods have <br />occurred in the <br />past.
