Introduction

This report concerns how the precipitation data from Lake Creek Barometer

Watershed was reduced into a more useable form. Included is a description

of data, the equations used to estimate missing data, times the clock

was stopped, and average yearly and monthly precipitation.

The average yearly and monthly precipitation was derivea twice. This

was done because from late in 1975 to mid-1977, the clocks were stopped

a large percentage of the time together, so it was impossible to estimate

the data by regression-correlation procedures. Average yearly and

monthly precipitation was done once including the data available from

1975 to 1977, and once excluding this data. The latter is probably a

more accurate estimate of actual precipitation.

Another major problem encountered while reducing this data was computer

turn around time. A lot of time was wasted while waiting on the Fort

Collins Computer Center. What was finally done was to reduce the data

to date and precipitation, put it on cassette tapes, and do the work

using the HP-9820 calculator, cassette memory and data cassette. This

worked satisfactorily and took much less time than waiting on FCCC.

Also included in this report are graphs of mean monthly precipitation for

each station for the entire time period and mean monthly precipitation

graphs broken down by years for each station. Graphs include the data

from 1975 to 1977.
