NO. 163 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 8, 1980 <br />R E ~ 0 L U T d 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "F loodplain <br />Information Report, Crystal River and Coal Creek, Pitkin County, <br />Colorado," dated October, 1979, has been prepared by Wright Water <br />Engineers, Inc., at the request of Pitkin county and the Colorado <br />Water Conservation BOard; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pitkin County has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set fOrth in the aforesaid r@port; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Coneervation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood clamages therefrom; and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-20! and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that suclt legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel Or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs'the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations availabls to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />r11"'1l.a.C! ".'1'_._-, ....._________.L-.l___ __ :., <br />----... ...................-z ...............................,u...... -..... .....1..1.-,,;;; '""......I,o...,.1.Q.uv na...c:::,L \..U.l.L::it:=rval..Lun Jjuara <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a lOa-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 8th day of July, 1980, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inun- <br />dated by a lOa-year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
