I greatly appreciate your letting me show it to FEMA and to
representatives of the other Region VIIl states. I look forward to the day when local,
regional and state entities in our states and in the other states in the country can
conveniently and cost-effectively submit maps like yours and have them converted into
official FIRMs with no difficulty.

On that note, I think I have talked with you about sharing the story of that map at the
Mapping and Engineering Committee meeting at the ASFPM conference in Milwaukee.
I would like to have committee members see what you did and provide feedback to the
idea. I will also have someone from the State of Kansas talking about a mapping project
they are carrying out. I think it's time for as many of us as possible to start conducting
these kinds of experiments and seeing how we can get maps improved, with or without
FEMA funds.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Brian R.
