.

B. Alternative #2

Under alternative #2, channel modifications were the same as in
alternative #1 with the exception to the spillway modification on
County Road 21 south of the rail road tracks. This modification
consisted of alteration of ground surface profile data to include
a 200 foot wide spillway bottom width levied on the left bank to
3898.0 feet MSL. Cross section 6 was also modified to include a
spillway bottom width of 100 feet and levied on the left bank to
3898.0 feet MSL.

The only new structure modelled under this alternative was County
Road 21. The same conditions for this structure were used in the
modelling of Alternative #1. In the Upper Channel, the highway
bridge and the trestle were modelled as in the existing conditions,
however the effective flow area of each structure was increased to
. 910.8 square feet for the highway bridge and 735.5 square feet for
the rail road trestle. This increase in effective flow area was
accomplished by excavating the channel under each structure, thus
creating vertical abutments. Table III. B. 1 contains the results of
this run.

.

Paoli Flood study
September 29, 1991

Hydraulic Analysis Report

-10-
