Recommended drainage improvements include detention on either the
soccer field or the practice field and drainage infrastructure improvements to the Middle
School/Bus Barn and the Football Complex.

Wright Water Engineers prepared the "Silvercreek Floodplain Study, Fraser River and Tenmile
Creek" in 1984. This document developed floodplains along the Fraser River and Tenmile Creek
within the Town limits, as well as the areas upstream and downstream of the Town. In 1987, the
CWCB incorporated the results of this study into a document entitled "Flood Hazard
Identification Report, Fraser River and Tenmile Creek, Granby, Colorado." CWCB then
designated the floodplains shown in the study. A review of the 1987 CWCB study was conducted
as a part of this FIR and was found to be valid for current conditions.

Community Response to the CWCB Desilmation and Approval Process
A letter from the CWCB was transmitted to the Town of Granby regarding the Board's proposed
action for designation and approval of the Granby floodplain information. The town was
receptive to the Board's proposed designation action and sent an official letter requesting that the
CWCB designate and approve the floodplain information currently available to the community.
A copy of the request letter is included in the Appendix of this report. In addition, the
community was contacted during the study process to obtain data and general information.

A meeting was held with the town manager, mayor and mayor pro-tern on March 20, 2002, to
explain the designation process, to review the FHBM and to solicit comments regarding the maps
and general flooding conditions in the town. A field tour of the Granby floodplains was also
conducted at this time. Information collected during the meeting and field reconnaissance was
incorporated into this study. Meeting minutes and photos are contained in the appendices.

3
