Roadside ditches and on-site culverts were sized to convey the 10-
year event in conformance with Town of Kiowa Criteria. Outlet protection will be required at some
culvert outlets to reduce pipe discharges to non-erosive velocities. The final construction plans will
detail any outlet protection and roadside ditch protection required.

EXISTING AND PROPOSED DRAINAGE CHARACTERISTICS
Fawn Valley is bisected by an improved grass-lined swale. RWlofffrom Basin TA-I currently enters
this swale by overtopping County Road 45. The proposed installation of (3) 48-inch culverts will
convey the 10-year storm under COWlty Road 45 and limit the 100-year overtopping to a I-foot
depth. Runoff then continues through the site and exits the site at Ute Avenue by an existing 24-inch
culvert with the excess discharge overtopping Ute Avenue. The installation of (3) 48-inch culverts
will convey the 10-year storm under Ute Avenue and limit 100-year overtopping to a I-foot
maximum depth.

Although this project is to be overlot graded, the general historic outfall locations will remain. Off-
site Basins OA-I through OA-4 will discharge runoff to on-site Basins A-I through A-12. Sub-
basins A-I through A-12 will eventually discharge runoff to the grass-lined channel in Tract A by
the on-site drainage system consisting of roadside swales and proposed culverts or as sheet flow
directly to the existing channel.

Off-site Basins OB-I and OB-2 will discharge runoff to on-site Basins B-1 and B-S. On-site Basins
B-1 through B-6 will ultimately discharge to the existing 24-inch culvert at EB-I. An additional 24-
inch culvert will be installed at EB-I to convey the developed lO-year runoff under Shoshone Street.

Sub-Basin B-7 will discharge runoff to the existing 24-inch culvert at EB-2. This existing facility

is adequate to convey the developed runoff under existing Ute Avenue.

3
