S. Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, <br />has completed for the City of Gran~ Junction Flood Plain Information <br />Report Colorado and Gunnison River~, Grand Junction, Color~do, dated <br />March 1973; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood Plai~ Information Report outlines and <br />describes the flood water runoff cpannels within the ao6vedescribed <br />areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 149-1-11(4), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1963, requires that the Colorado Water Conservation Board designate <br />and approve storm or flood water runoff channels and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisidictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 139-60-1, Colorado Revised Statutes 1963, <br />provides that such cities, towns, incorporated areas and local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for any storm or flood <br />water runoff channel only after designation and approval by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Western Colorado Regional Planning Commission <br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve the flood hazard areas as set forth in the aforesaid U. S. <br />Corps of Engineers Flood Plain Information Report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said Flood <br />Plain Information Report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board that said Board designate and approve as <br />flood hazard areas those areas set forth in the report as being <br />- - - --subject-to-an-intermedia:te--regi-onarr:tooaT - - ---------------- . <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, COlorado, <br />this 31st day of October, 1973, that it does hereby designate and <br />
