<br />Land use is a significant factor in the development of a drainagc <br /> <br /> <br />master plan since the amount of runoff from llydrology studies lS par- <br /> <br /> <br />tially dependent upon the type of surface, development. Consequently, <br /> <br /> <br />all information on present land use was obtained from the various <br /> <br /> <br />entities. Plate No.1, Volume 2 reflects these findings. Land use <br /> <br /> <br />on this Plate has been grouped into four generalized categories. They <br /> <br />arc: <br /> <br />1. Agricultural <br />2. Hesidential <br />3. Open Sp:Jce <br />4. Commercial - Industrial <br />Plate No.2, Volume 2 reflects propused land use fur the undevelopcd <br />land in Douglas County. A definite plan of development has heen estah~ <br />lislwd for only a portion of the basin area ln Douglas County. The <br />pattern of urbanization for the remaining are8 has been assumed (for <br />hydrology purposes only) based on contacts with landowners, individual <br />and group meetings with officials of the various entities., and by <br />obse'rvation of probable land use indications within thc area.
