S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque <br />District, has completed for the cities of Granada, Lamar and Holly and <br />the counties of Bent and Prowers, Sped.al Flood Hazard Information <br />Report, Arkansas River and Tributaries, Great Bend, Kansas to John Martin <br />Dam, dated June, 1974; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Special Flood Hazard Information Report: outlines <br />and describes the floodwater runoff channels within the above described <br />areas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the preven- <br />tion of floods and flood damages therE~frc)m; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that legislative bodies of local jurisdictions <br />may provide zoning regulations for any storm or floodwater runoff <br />channel only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c:), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board, upon designation <br />and approval of the flood hazard areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />U. S, Army Corps of Engineers Special Flood Hazard Information Report, <br />to make such designations available to such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said Special <br />Flood Hazard Information Report and does hereby recommend to the Colo- <br />rado Water Conservation Board that said Board designate and approve as <br />flood hazard areas those areas set forth in the report as being subject <br />to an intermediate regional flood; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vationBoard in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />26th day of February 1975 that it does hereby designate and approve as <br />flood hazard areas those areas described as being inundated by an <br />intermediate regional flood as set forth in the Special Flood Hazard <br />Information Report, Arkansas River and Tributaries, Great Bend, Kansas <br />to John Martin Dam, dated June, 1974; and <br /> <br />~ <br />
