of flow thereby decreasing the height of rise above bm1kfull as shown on Table 3, page 15, of
Appendix III.

The lOO-year floodplain designations made prior to the construction of the Proj,:ct remain
in effect for the portion of th,~ floodplain within the corporate limits of the TO\~n lying west of
the Corps right bank levee along Wolf Cree~ and for unincorporated Prowers County areas west
and north of the levee.

The two interior ponding areas used to pond interior drainage runoff until Wolf Creek
flooding recedes are outside the corporate limits of the Town and have relatively low valued
agricultural use. Damages are low and limited mainly to temporary inconvenience and nuisance,
These interior ponding areas can handle the lOO-y'~ar interior storm volume,

FINDINGS

The Board staff finds that this projt:ct meets the Board standards for a flood control
project. The Board staff recommends that the floodplain areas described in this Report be
recognized as the I DO-year floodplain fo! GnUlada. and the floodplain be considered for
designation and approval by the Board.

Recommendations are:

a) Designate and approve that there i~; no 100-year floodplain within the (:orporate limits
of the portion of the Town of Granada and unincorporated Prowers County areas lying east and
south of the right bank levee along Wolf Creek as shown in this Report and as d:escribed in the
section titled "POST-PROJECT FLOODED AREAS",

b) Rescind the portions of previous l30ard designations (indexed as resolution numbers
39) that included the 100-year floodplain lyiug east and south of the right bank kvee along Wolf
Creek as shown in this Report and as described in the section titled "POST-PROJECT FLOODED
AREAS".

c) Designate and approve that the previous 100-year floodplain designations numbered 39
and 40, remain in effect for the unincorporated Prowers County areas west and north of the levee
along Wolf Creek as previously described in the section titled "POST-PROJECT FLOODED
AREAS";

d) Designate and approve the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM)f,)r the Town of
Granada effective September 24, 1984,

The Board's designation and approval action will not require any changes in the Town's
floodplain management program and will not affeGt the status of the September 24, 1984 action
by the Federal Emergency Management Agency which finalized the Flood InsW'iillGe Rate Map
(FIRM) for the Town.

8
