It is the flrst of <br />throe flood plain information volumes cayerlng streams in Boulder <br />Coonty ano was prepared in response to an apollcationmade by the <br />Dan~er Regional Counci I of Go~er~ments through the COlorado "~ter Con- <br />servationBoard. The purpose of this report Istoidentifytheflood <br />hazard <lreas In order to assist local officials and others In making <br />prudent use of thostraamvalloy. <br />The basin and stream characteristics, flood histories and <br />probable effects of floods greater than any of record are presented <br />sequentiallyinthlsreport. Two potential floods, Intermediate <br />Regional and Standard Project, were used to represent those greater <br />than any of record but which may occur in the futyre. Thesetwo <br />floods are fully defined in the Glossary and shoyld be given appropri- <br />ate conslderatio~ in deyaloping controls and planning for flood plaIn <br />constryctlon. <br />The flood hazard areas defined by the two potential floods <br />ara Shown on tM plates at the end of thisroport.
