No. 133 <br /> <br />'\ <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />March 14, 1979 <br /> <br />R E SOL UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Analyses, Cottonwood Creek in the Vicinity of Buena vista, <br />Chaffee County, Colorado," dated July, 1978, has been prepared by <br />the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, at <br />the request of Chaffee County, the Town of Buena Vista, and the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Chaffee <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />) 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado,Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report' <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the coloradO Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 14th day of March, 1979, that it does hereby designate and <br />
