S E C T ION IV: Alternative Droinage Master Plans

A.) General Discussion

A meeting was held with the vorlOUS entities on February 14, 1974,

at \;hich time a schematic was presented of the flood pla:in ior a 100-

year frequency storm of 6-hour durotion based on proposed lanel use

conditions.

Several possibilities for improvements were discussed for

various reaches along the Big Dry Creek Channel whi,ch would reduce

flooding and potential flood damage.

From the numerous possihilities,

three distinctive plans were selected as being wortby of further pLll1-

ning and analysis from which one plan would ulUmately be implemented

as "the best" major drainageway master plan.

The three plans are as follows:

Plan No.1 - Flood Plain Delineation

Plan No.2 - Structure and Channe,I_J!;lI'.1'!2\,_e.!l1.(;!2.1:~

Plan No.:> Flood Control llam and Structure and C)Jannel
------~lmErov c!!l,:cn5..:;_---~'------_----n-----,---~'------

Table IV-l is a tabulation of information of the drainage structures

along Big Dry Creek. The capacity of each drainage strtlcture has been

calculated based on a water surface elevation of 1.0 foot below the

crown of the roadway.

A detailed review by channel reach of each of the above plans

follows, including:

Potential flood damage and estimated damage costs for 10-, 25-,
and IOO-year frequency storms

Proposed improvements and estimated improvements costs

/ ,1:),
