Reference is made to our letter of 11 May 1967 inclosing a copy
of the proposed :~eport of the Chief of Engineers on Bear Creek Basin,
South Platte River and TriJ->utaries, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.

In view of corrrrnents from the Governor of Colorado and the Depart-
r.ent of the Inte:~ior, we have given further consideration to the
recreation poten'Jial of the proposed Mount Carbon Reservoir project.
As a result of f'lrther coordination with concerned State and Federal
agencies the Chief of Engineers reconunends a modified plan consisting
of a multiple-p~~ose dam on Bear Creek and the enlarged recreation
development inCI'lding the Soda Lakes and the eastern slope of MO\lllt
Glennon.
