NO. 151 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 30, 1980 <br /> <br />R ~ ~ Q b Q ~ ~ Q li <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood- <br />plain Information Report - Running Creek, and prainage Study -Town <br />of Elizabeth, Colorado," dated July, 1979, has been prepared by <br />Water Resources Cons~ltants, Inc., at the request of the Town of <br />Elizabeth, Elbert co~nty, and the Colorado Water Conservation Board; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, s~id report describes and o~tlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />Or basins of the studY areai and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, tlle Town of Elizabeth and tbe Board of County <br />commissioners of Elbert County have requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the colorado water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention Of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, sections 31-23-201 and 30-26-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on Or along <br />any storm Or floodwater runoff channel Or basin only after designa- <br />tion and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs tbe colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels Or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bOdies Of local jurisdic- <br />tions; . and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has ~eviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, <br />this 30th day of January, 1980, that it does hereby designate and <br />approve as floodplain areas those areas described as being inun- <br />dated by a 100-year flood as set forth in said report, and <br />
