<br />4.1.16 PAWNEE CREEK <br /> <br />Flood History, Accounts of floocling along Pawnee Creel< are not abundant Since several floods have <br />undoubtedly occurred. the apparent lack of flood data is probably the result of the rural nature of Pawnee <br />Creek, Residents of the Pawnee Creek area. however, indicate that flooding occurs about once every 5 to 10 <br />years along Pawnee Creek, Available flood accounts indicate flooding did occur in 1883, 1894, '1914, 1921 <br />, 1935, and 1965, <br /> <br />4.2 ARKANSAS RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />4.2.1 ARKANSAS RIVER <br /> <br />Flood of 1864, The first flood on the Arkansas Fliver lor which detailed information has been 10und <br />occurred June 11,1864, as a result of the general storm over eastern Colorado.
