E ~ g 1~ T 10 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled ''Flood <br />Plain Information, Kiowa Creek at Elbert, Colorado," dated January, <br />1977, has been prepared by United Western Engineers at the request of <br />Elbert County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the Board of COU~ty Commissioners of Elbert County <br />has requested the Colorado Wate~ Co~servation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water CQnservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damaees therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such 1e~is1ative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions may provide zoning regu1at~ons for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel ~r basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado Water Cons~rvation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-10~(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water CO~servation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff C:hannels or basins and to make such <br />designations available to legislati~ bodies of lOcal jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that <br />the Board designate and approve as iloodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intebmediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW TH.ERE:rORE-;-BE-IT-RESOLVEDoyt:neColorado-Water-Conser- <br />vation Board i~ regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />27th day of July, 1977 that it does hereby designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100-year <br />, flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
