<br />-. <br /> <br />~A ,..,11) C,"", <br />(Clil.."') p..'.)l'l,...tG~) <br /> <br />I .~." <br />:.....-'--;'" <br />, <br /> <br />"- <br /> <br />"$0> <br /> <br />'" ~ <br />:s? <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />102 ColUmbine Building' <br />1845 Sherma~ Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />December 4, 1974 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Soil Conservation Service under <br />date of July, 1973, issued a flood in!ormation report under the title <br />of "Flood Hazard Analyses, Sand Creek, City of Colorado Springs and <br />El Paso County, Colorado; I and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under date of Oct~ber 31, 1973, the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board by resolution appr~ved and designated as flood <br />hazard areeas those areas in the repo~t described as being subject to <br />inundation as the result of an intermediate regional flood (100 year); <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since the issuance of said report and its approval <br />by the Colorado Water Conservation B08rd certain channel improvements <br />have taken place on tributaries of said Sand Creek which change the <br />hydraulic characteristics of the chanuel and therefore change the area <br />)which would be inundated by an intermediate regional flood; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report on certain tributaries of Sand Creek <br />has been prepared by Lovejoy and Williams, Inc., a consulting engineering <br />firm, under date of June, 1974, which report takes into consideration <br />the changes in the channel of certain portions of the Sand Creek <br />tributaries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of El PasO has requested the Colorado <br />Water conservation Board to revise the original flood hazard desig- <br />nation made by the Board under date of October 31, 1973, in accordance <br />with the report of Lovejoy and Williams, Inc.; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed the revised <br />floodplain information, has consulted with the United States Soil <br />Conservation Service, and concurs witb the revised floodplain informa- <br />tion report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conserva- <br />tion Board that said Board approve a revision of the flood hazard <br />information heretofore made on Sand Creek, insofar as such previous <br />,~te_signation;_pertains to ,portions of -the -West-Fork-ana -tne-MIlIdle--Fork <br />of Sand Creek; <br /> <br />NO"Vl, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />4th day of December, 1974, that it does hereby rescind and revise that <br />portion of the resolution adopted on october 31, 1973, describing <br />certain flood hazard areas along Sand Creek in El Paso County insofar <br />
