Base flood <br />elevation lines show the locations of the expected whole-foot water- <br />surface elevations of the base (lOO-year) flood. This map is <br />developed in accordance with the latest flood insurance map prepara- <br />tion guidelines published by the Federal Insurance Administration. <br /> <br />6.0 OTHER STUDIES <br /> <br />A Flood Insurance Study for the unincorporated areas of Weld County, <br />Colorado (Reference 10), is being prepared in conjunction with this <br />Flood Insurance Study. ~esults in both studies are in complete agree- <br />ment. <br /> <br />The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently published a Special Flood <br />Hazard Information Report for the South Platte River (Reference S), which <br />is a study of the South Platte River in Weld County to compare the 1973 <br />flood to the IOO-year flood. The information provided varies from stage- <br />discharge relationships at each cross section in the rural areas to <br />water-surface profiles in the urban areas. The report contains flood <br />profiles in the Evans area of the 10-, SO-, 100-, and SOO-year floods. <br /> <br />13 <br />
