On the <br />basis of our acceptance of your subllliesion and pursuant to Section 60. ~4 <br />of these regulations, the City's eliqib1l1ty for the sale of flood <br />insuranoa will ba reinstated, effeotive August 24, 1979. <br /> <br />'l'he Flood Insurance Rate Map, which shows the base flood elevations <br />established for the City of Glenwood Springs, became effective on <br />July 16, 1979. 'l'his date indicates the affective date for the <br />authorization of the sale of first and seoond layer flood insurance <br />coverage at actuarial rates for all new construotion and substantial <br />.improvements to existing structures within your community. First layer <br />coveraqe t>n structures built prior to July Hi;, 1979, will continue to be <br />made available at subsidized rates, unless sub~tantial improvements are <br />made to the struotures. <br /> <br />The actuarial rate zones applioable to your community are indicated on <br />the h'lood Insurancs Rate Map (FIRM). You shouJ.d be aware that actuarial <br />rates for insuranoe on a structure increase as the first floor elevat.ion <br />of the structure deoreases below the base flood levels established for <br />your community.
