Constructing an improved inlet for the existing stormsewer,

and installing a new conduit parallel to the existing to limit the overflow

at Sheridan Blvd. to a depth of 6 inches or less as recommended in the

Urban Stormdrainage Criteria Manual. Inlets are proposed to limit

dOW'lstream flooding to flow in the street.

C. DEPEW STREET BASIN
The prOblems associated with a lOO-year flood are not as severe as
described for the two main basins. Because of flat topography and some
streets with gravel surface local flooding occurs even at frequencies
occuring more often t~an once every 100 years. The Depew Street 8asin
contributes to the flooding problems within the 1st Avenue drainaQeway
hecause runoff crosses 1st Avenue west of Depew Street. Installing a
conduit approximately along the existing drainageway, with inlets at
intersections, to discharge into the proposed conduit in 1st Avenue is
expected to solve the problem.

IV-2
