D. nEPEW STREET BASIN South /'1arshall Street and \~est Cedar Avenue following the alignment of West Cedar Avenue to Teller Street, From here, the alignment of an existing culvert appears as the centerline of the basin. T~e overall length is 1.05 miles, with a width of approximately .'15 mile. The average slope is estimated as 1.6 percent, The historical thalweg could not he irtentifierl exactly, but it is believed to follow closely the above described centerline of t~e basin. The area of the basin located immediately adjacent to lrJadsworth 130ulevard 'is fairly flat and seems to have a good potential for develooment of detention in connection with parking facilities. T:le suh-basin is 0.G5 mile lono, starting at 1st Avenue and nepew Street, and ending at South ~~arshall and \'Jest Cedar Avenue, and about .'16 mile wide, with an average slooe of 1.4 percent along the alignment of the historical channel. The slope of the hasin is very flat in the direction normal to the historical channel alignment. The historic thalweq can be identified with the help of topoqraphic maDs, scale 1"=100', hut does not appear as a well definerl c~annel.
