Th" basin hounr'aries are sholvn on <br />Fioure 11-1. <br /> <br />D. nEPEW STREET BASIN <br /> <br />South /'1arshall Street and \~est Cedar Avenue following the alignment of <br />West Cedar Avenue to Teller Street, From here, the alignment of an existing <br />culvert appears as the centerline of the basin. T~e overall length is 1.05 <br />miles, with a width of approximately .'15 mile. The average slope is estimated <br />as 1.6 percent, The historical thalweg could not he irtentifierl exactly, but <br />it is believed to follow closely the above described centerline of t~e basin. <br />The area of the basin located immediately adjacent to lrJadsworth 130ulevard <br />'is fairly flat and seems to have a good potential for develooment of detention <br />in connection with parking facilities. <br />The delineation of the sub-hasins and tIle design points are s'lOlvn on <br />Fi gure 11-2. <br />The flood plain and flood way reference data are shown in Table II-I, <br />Appendix C. <br /> <br />1 . General <br />The Depew Street Basin is located hetween 1st Avenue and l\lameda lI,venue <br />and between Depew and Teller Streets. The basin is locatert entirely within <br />the muni cipa 1 1 i mits of the Ci ty of Lakewoo(l, <br /> <br />2. Sub-Basin S-2.31 <br />Single family resi denti al dwell ings presentl y occuPY ahout seventy <br />oercent of the sub-basin. The remainino area is undeveloned or occupied by <br />connercial enterprises. The City of Lakewoort zoning ['lap inrticates future <br />developnent to hy R-2, residential. T:le suh-basin is 0.G5 mile lono, starting <br />at 1st Avenue and nepew Street, and ending at South ~~arshall and \'Jest Cedar <br />Avenue, and about .'16 mile wide, with an average slooe of 1.4 percent along <br />the alignment of the historical channel. The slope of the hasin is very <br />flat in the direction normal to the historical channel alignment. The historic <br />thalweq can be identified with the help of topoqraphic maDs, scale 1"=100', <br />hut does not appear as a well definerl c~annel. '10 existino detention storaGe <br />or floodplain storage is apparent. <br /> <br />3. Suh-Basin S-2.32 <br />Approximately two-thirds of this sub-basin is developed - one-t~ird <br />commercial, anr' one-third residential. Future development is exoecterl to be <br />two-thirds comnercial and one-third resirlential. The suh-basin starts at <br /> <br />11-2 <br />
