The Town is interested in opportunities such as this program which will help <br />us to continue upgrading how the Town deals with flood damage prevention issues, <br />development review, and long range planning concerns. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 37-60-106(1)(c) C.R.S., as amended, the Town of Basalt <br />requests that the CWCB consider the designation and approval of flood hazard areas <br />within the incorporated town limits. <br /> <br />The Town requests that the CWCB staff work with Town Staff in reviewing the current <br />floodplain mapping for the Town, entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of Basalt, <br />Colorado", dated September 1979 for possible designation and approval at the CWCB <br />meeting scheduled for May 1999. Such review should include the FEMA approved <br />revisions to the Town's mapping dated 6/4/87 and most recently 1/7/99. <br /> <br />Please contact Glenn Hartmann, Town Planner or myself at (970) 927-4701 to advise us <br />of the status of this request and if you need anything further.
