PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RECREATION <br /> <br />October 7, 1998 <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Lang <br />Chief, Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 721 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br />OCT 1 4 1998 <br /> <br />Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Lang: <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 37-60-106(1)(c) C.R.S., as amended, the Town ofPlatteville <br />is requesting that the Colorado Water Conservation Board review the floodplain <br />information within the incorporated portions of the Town, and consider it for formal <br />Board action at the CWCB meeting scheduled for November 1998. <br /> <br />We would like for CWCB staff to review the floodplain information entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Boundary Map, Town ofPlatteville. Colorado" (dated January 16, 1976). The <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency d.etermined that there were "No Special Flood <br />Hazard Areas" in 1980 when Platteville wa.~ converted to the regular program of the <br />NFIP. We would like to have the CWCB staff investigate the accuracy ofthe Flood <br />hazard Boundary Map and confirm whether or not FEMA's rescission of the map is <br />reasonable prior to any formal Board action. <br /> <br />Based on the CWCB's field investigation arId a meeting with Town officials, we are <br />requesting that the Flood Hazard Boundary Map either be designated as it is now, <br />designated after appropriate revisions are made, or be rescinded by the CWCB. <br /> <br />Please call Lane Danielzuk at (970) 785-22,15 if you have any questions.
