<br />It is critical to the town's safety from flood inundation <br /> <br /> <br />that flood protection be developed fOl~ this segment of the river. <br /> <br />PROJEC'r COSTS <br /> <br />Project costs were estimated for channel stabilization <br /> <br /> <br />mea.sures, overbank flooding conditions, bridge improvements <br /> <br /> <br />engineering contingencies, legal and administration, and <br /> <br /> <br />construct ion inspect ion costs. Uni t co~;ts were developed and <br /> <br /> <br />used for determining costs of project elements. Unit costs <br /> <br /> <br />schedules were obtained from t11e U.S. Soil Con'3ervat.ion Service <br /> <br /> <br />and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which reflect federal wage <br /> <br /> <br />rates and construction costs - Davis - Bacon Provision. This <br /> <br /> <br />procedure is consistent with a reconnaissance level analysis. <br /> <br />Project costs were developed for each reach. 1\ summar'y of <br /> <br /> <br />costs is given in Table 3.
