c. J- -

computed using an iterative process. The effect of bridges
and culverts on the water surface profile will be included

in the analysis.

II. BASINS AND SUB-BASIN PARAMETERS

The initial phase of the study will involve definition

of the physical and hydrological characteristics of the

various sub-basins within the Gore Creek drainage. Factors
such as slope, basin aspect (north, south, etc.), soil and/or
rock cover, vegetal cover as I'lell as length and shape would
be established for each sub-basin to be used as minimal

aerial units. The effects on runoff of the various lakes,

such as the Black Lakes on Black Gore Creek would be defined
.~ such that the configuration of the unit hydrographs can be
properly delineated. The Forest Service open files on soil

cover, particularly the "A" horizon in the Gore basin would

/ be researched as a part of determining infiltration rates.

III. DESIGN STORM HYDROLOGY

The design storm hydrology involves analyzing the

'/

available data from the Weather Bureau, Forest Service and

independent meteorological stations to determine if sufficient
short term rainfall data (1 hr" 2 hr., 6 hr., and 12 hr.)

are available to establish rainfall depth-duration-frequency

curves for the Gore Creek basin. Based upon a preliminary check
