Financing of Snow Surveys. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford: "Mr. Homer Stockwell of the Soil Conservation <br />Service is here and fBrhaps he would like to <br />discuss snow surveys.1f <br /> <br />1- <br /> <br />Mr. Stockwell: "The Soil Conservation Service in the <br />Rocky Mountain area has been rather low in <br />finances for making snow surveys so we <br />" talked to Governor Thornto:-, am he <br />suggested we go see the Director of the <br />Water C onse rva tion Board wi th re gard to <br />getting this State's support. Utah has <br />just put $6,000 a year into' the program; <br />Oregon will put between $9,000 and $10,000; <br />Wyoming and New Mexico put in between <br />$500 and $1,000 a year. We had hopes that <br />some Colorado' State Agency would support it. <br />In fact, we wish the Board would consider <br />this favorably and ask for funds' from the <br />Legislature." <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford: "So far as this office is concerned, we would <br />be glad to assist if money' were available." <br /> <br />Mr. Bailey: "Do you get any he~pfrom experiment stations?" <br /> <br />Mr. Stockwell: "1'Ie have to depend on getting money from all <br />agencies because we have no direct <br />appropria tion." <br /> <br />Mr. Beaty: <br /> <br />"If there is nothing more to cone before this <br />Board, I move that the meeting be adjourned." <br /> <br />Motion was secondefr.
