<br />Policy IInplementation Objectives <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Water Information Section <br /> <br />Decision Support Svstems (DSS) - Operate and maintain Colorado's DSS as an essential <br />service. This effort involves many actions items that revolve round the continued <br />development and support of decision support systems for the major basins - a decision <br />snpport system that is always current and is useful to CWCB, SEO, water users, water <br />consultants, and others as necessary. Provide the capability to produce high quality maps <br />and other products to aid in sound decision making. <br /> <br />Serve Water Providers and the Public Technical Support and Consulting - Serve water <br />users and the public in the area of water information management, web site, and Internet <br />based communications and information, and file storage. <br /> <br />Mapping - Ensure the production of high quality maps, atlases by utilizing digital data <br />and DSS technology. <br /> <br />Statewide Outreach and Education - Each Section shall perform outreach and education <br />including participating in public awareness and program advocacy activities to increase <br />public and organizational understanding of CWCB and develop opportunities for each <br />Section to achieve their goals. <br /> <br />Water Information - Provide coordination and support to all facets of CWCB water <br />information management including web page publishing and maintenance, section <br />newsletters, library filing and maintenance, and all types of information management. <br />Each Section has responsibilities to this Section to coordinate work with other Sections <br />and Divisions within the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to make information <br />assessable to CWCB's customers regarding water supply conservation and drought <br />planning and protection, as well as general information related to the Section, through <br />publications, the Internet, databases, and the imaging of documents. <br /> <br />Water Resource Information Center - Provide a central resource center for the review <br />and analysis of CWCB actions, CWCB recommendations, publications, studies, reports, <br />and associated materials designed to educate the public and help water users make sound <br />resource decisions. <br /> <br />Water Education - Ensure the Colorado Foundation for Water Education promotes a <br />better understanding of water issues through educational opportunities and resources so <br />Colorado citizens will understand water as a limited resource and will make informed <br />decisions. <br /> <br />Water Supplv Storal!e Site Inventorv - Maintain a GIS inventory and other appropriate <br />tabulations and documents about potential surface and underground water snpply <br />storage sites throughout Colorado. Update the inventory annually to include new sites. <br />Develop and present an annual report to the CWCB. <br /> <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />
