<br />The Board will support outreach, education and other programs that promote a better <br />understanding of water issues so Colorado's citizens and other government entities will <br />understand water as a limited resource and will make informed decisions related to its <br />conservation, development) protection and management. <br /> <br />The Board and the Board Staff will identify and analyze and respond to the need for <br />statutory changes to ensure the effective implementation of this plan and the Board's <br />mission. <br /> <br />Policy Implementation <br /> <br />The Board and its staff will: <br /> <br />. Continue to support the statutory requirements which mandate CWCB <br />involvement in projects and programs <br />. Recommend statutory changes to ensure the effective implementation of this <br />plan and the Board's mission. <br />. Provide regulatory stability and support to water users and others <br />. Respond to requests for technical support from customers <br />. Provide water planning tools <br />. Support State legislative and administrative requests <br />. Support existing and future water supply infrastructure project fmancing and <br />construction <br />. Reduce the risk of Colorado's citizens from weather related hazards, specifically <br />flood and drought <br />. Provide general water related information <br />. Protect the environment and the ability to continue to utilize water by protecting <br />streams and lakes. <br /> <br />Prog-ram Performance and Management I <br /> <br />The Board and staff will: <br /> <br />. Provide for adequate staff attraction and retention <br />. Produce high quality, useable products (through communication, teamwork, <br />timeliness, accountability and image) <br />. Maintain appropriate financial controls <br />. Continually develop means to leverage people, goodwill, and technology, and <br />utilize innovation to adapt to changing customer needs and demands. <br />. Increase the public's understanding of water as a natural resource so informed <br />decisions may be made. <br />
