<br />2003-04 Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Work Plan <br /> <br />The CWCB staffs work plan will target highest priority streams and lakes for instream flow and <br />natural lake level protection while being as cost and tim~ efficient as possible. Staff has met with the <br />State and Federal Agencies primarily responsible for the field data collection relating to instream and . <br />natural lake level appropriations to discuss the proposed'2003-2004 Work Plan. The 2003-2004 Work <br />Plan makes a small modification to the long-range plan identified last year. In 2002, it was <br />recommended that streams and lakes located in Water Divisions 2, 4 and 6 would be the focus of the <br />Board's appropriation process in the year 2004, and streams and lakes located in Water Divisions 1 <br />and 7 would be the focus in the year 2005. <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that Divisions 2 and 4 continue to be the focus of the appropriation process in <br />the year 2004, with the addition of 6 streams and 1 lake Jocated in Water Division 1. Staff <br />recommends postponing data collection 011 streams and lakes in Water Division 6 until 2004. Staff <br />also recommends that due to the amount of interest expressed in the streams identified in Water <br />Division 7 that the data collection agencies begin collecting the required field data for those streams <br />and lakes this year (2003), allowing the agencies appro)\imately two years to assemble and evaluate the <br />necessary data. <br /> <br />The recommended work plan includes streams and lakes containing cutthroat trout, streams and lakes <br />where the initial data has already been collected, stream' and lakes associated with possible <br />donations/acquisitions and streams and lakes associated' with a state park.
