Mission <br /> <br />I hereby direct the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Agriculture and any <br />other state agency that may prove helpful with this project, to take measures necessary to . <br />eradicate tamarisk on public lands within ten years of this Executive Order. <br /> <br />State agencies participating in this project shall designate a point of contact to coordinate <br />tamarisk assessment and removal efforts, and to identify necessary funding sources. <br /> <br />The Department of Natural Resources shall coordinate these efforts and, within one year of the <br />effective date of this order, shall submit a report to the Governor's Office outlining a viable <br />plan to achieve the eradication of tamarisk in Colorado within ten years. <br /> <br />3. This will be GOCO's first rulemaking effort. As ~dentified in the GOCO Rulemaking Notice, <br />"The purpose of developing rules is to establish procedUres to facilitate: <br /> <br />. Investment expenditures GOCO are directed to make in the wildlife resources of Colorado <br />through the Colorado Division of Wildlife. <br /> <br />. Investment expenditures GOCO is directed ito make in the outdoor recreation resources of . <br />Colorado through the Colorado Division of:Parks and Outdoor Recreation (Colorado State <br />Parks.) <br /> <br />. Competitive grant expenditures to Colorado State Parks, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, <br />counties, municipalities, or other political subdivisions of the state, or nonprofit land <br />conservation organizations to identify, acquire and manage unique open space and natural <br />areas of statewide significance. <br /> <br />. Competitive matching grant expenditures tQ local governments and other qualified entities <br />to acquire, develop, or manage open lands ahd parks." <br /> <br />The hearing will be held on April 4. Additional information is available on the GOCO web site at <br />httu://www.l!oco.orl!/rules/rules.html . <br /> <br />The CWCB Stream and Lake Protection Section Staffwill monitor the rulemaking process and will <br />work closely with the Division of Parks and the Division of Wildlife to explore opportunities for <br />cooperation on instream flow related issues. <br /> <br />Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level Recommendation Workshop Summary: On Feb. 18 we <br />held our annual Instream Flow and Natural Lake Level!Recommendation Workshop. This workshop <br />provided an opportunity for any person, agency or orgapization to recommend stream reaches or <br />natural lakes to the CWCB for inclusion into the Instrellm Flow and Natural Lake Level Program <br />(program). <br /> <br />All the workshop participants received Water Division 'Tabulations listing streams and lakes under . <br />consideration for field data collection.
