control and the other matters we'll get the
whole state in. The areas where we have had
all the publicity about is Chatfield - too
big, too small, not properly located, how
does it work in with Two Forks, and so forth.
I think Hr. Sparks can do a great deal of
good for us in coordinating the efforts and I
the responsibility which I do think is our
Board's.

All right with you, Larry?"

MR. SPARKS:

"I think it is a good idea. I have been
amazed at the number of organizations that
have suddenly popped up since the flood. I
attended one meeting that went into a late
hour last night of a group of Denver business-
men. There are literally dozens of these
organizations springing up. It is apparent
that they have little conception of the
proper procedure to get flood control
projects.

Our main point of contact so far has
been through the Inter-County Regional Plan-
ning Commission, and in the Lower South
Platte, with the Lower South platte Water
Conservancy District.

I"l'hat Craig mentions I think will happen
allover the state. They are doing the same
thing in the Arkansas Valley. We are deal-
ing with three different Corps offices
actually. The South Platte deals with the
Omaha office, the Arkansas with the Albu-
querque office. The western slope deals
with the Los Angeles office, Craig, which
has never been a very satisfactory setup
as far as we are concerned. He have been
quite disappointed in the flood control I
benefits allocated to us for western slope
projects. We have felt that the investiga-
tions were insufficient in every case. I
think that is something that should be pushed
in that area."
