Water Supply Finance and Construction Program - Project Data

Grantee: Colorado Water Conservation Board County: Statewide
Project Name: Colorado Stream Restoration and Flood Mitigation Program
Project Type: Flood Protection Program Planning and Engineering
Drainage Basin: All River Basins in Colorado Water Source: N/ A

.

Total Project Cost: $400,0000
Type of Grantee: State Govermnent
CWCB Non-Reimbursable Inv.: $75,000

Funding Source: CWCB Const. Fund
Median Household income: Nt A
Interest Rate: N/A Term: N/A

SUMMARY
The impact area of the Stream Restoration and Flood Mitigation Program is potentially any watershed within the
state of Colorado. The Project objective is to provide planning and engineering services for stream restoration
stndieslprojects as well as matching dollars for partnering with federal agencies and local governments in the
development of Flood Mitigation stndiestprojects. Without the availability of investments from the CWCB
Construction Fund, there is not a reliable source of consistent funding for this program which has been wildly
successful for recent projects in Colorado (i.e. Rio Grande headwaters restoration, Alamosa River restoration,
Arkansas River multi-objective stndy, Fountain Creek watershed stndy, and others). This fund can also work in
harmony with the newly created Watershed Protection Fund (State Tax checkoff item) as appropriate. Stndies
and projects resulting from this program can have far reaching benefits for water supply, flood protection,
enhancement of aesthetic and environmental quality, recreation, and increased economic benefit.

.

Project Impact Area

.
