Evans <br />eWeB Director <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Larry Lang <br /> <br />Dan McAuliffe <br />Deputy Director <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />September 20, 1999 <br /> <br />Re: <br /> <br />Agenda item 11.e Chatfield Reservoir Reallocation Investigation - Progress and Planning Report <br /> <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br /> <br />In my January 19, 1999 memorandum, I provided the Board with a complete project overview for the <br />"Chatfield Storage Space Reallocation Study," The purpose of the feasibility study is to investigate the <br />.ential for reallocation of storage from flood control to multi-purpose use, to formulate operational plans for <br />water control manual, to formulate plans for proposed changes in the overall operations of the reservoir <br />system, and to obtain approval of higher Corps' authority, The Chatfield Study Group, Corps of Engineers, and <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) have accepted the study objectives for the project. The <br />copies of the "Scope of Work" and the "Contract Agreement between the Department of Army (Corps of <br />Engineers) and the Colorado Water Conservation Board" for the Chatfield, Cherry Creek and Bear Creek <br />Feasibility Study are on file at the CWCB office, It should be noted that Cherry Creek and Bear Creek are <br />included in the Corps' authority, This authorization will offer us the opportunity to review possible exchange <br />opportunities with these two reservoirs, The present "Scope of Work" does not include any specific work tasks <br />for Cherry Creek and Bear Creek Reservoirs. <br /> <br />ACTIONS <br /> <br />In my January 19, 1999 memorandum, I provided a project status and a proposed schedule for the study, The <br />project schedule has changed substantially due the extended time required in the final negotiations for the final <br />terms of the contract agreement. The final contract agreement is expected to be fully executed by October I, <br />1999, Upon receipt of the executed agreement, the Board will commence with the following assignments: <br /> <br />. Participate with the Corps in the selection of the study contractor from the list of the four finalists; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Control and Floodplain Management. Larry Lang, Chief.
