SUBJECT: Agenda Items 4a and 4b, July 13-14, 1998, Board Meeting-
Floodplain Designation and Approvals

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This Agenda item includes 2 floodplain studies proposed for CWCB action. A brief swnmary of
e the studies is presented below.

1. FPR 98-466: A FLood Insurance Study (FIS), dated February 1987, was published by FEMA
for the Town of Holyoke in Phillips County. The study includes detailed floodplain information
for Frenchman Creek in the community.

2. FPR 98-467: A Floodplain Information Report, dated April 1998, was completed for the
Town of Lyons in Boulder County. The study includes detailed floodplain information for
North St. Vrain and St. Vrain Creeks in the community.

DISCUSSION
Attachments I and 2 summarize the findings of the staff review for each of the floodplain studies
for which designation has been requested.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The floodplain information for Resolutions Nos. 98-466 through 98-467 meets the applicable
requirements of the Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules". The proposed
resolutions for those 2 studies have been reviewed and discussed with the interested parties. The
staff recommends that designation action be taken on the 2 studies referenced above.
