Public Information & Education <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />As part of the requirements ofHB 91-1154, the OWC <br />was to establish and maintain a library of information to provide <br />the public with water use efficiency information. To meet this <br />requirement, OWC developed a database identifying information <br />available on water use efficiency, maintains all grant reports <br />concerning demonstration projects and water use efficiency plans, <br />information about water use efficiency efforts in other states, and <br />product information from various manufacturers related to <br />efficient water use, <br /> <br />. Due to the high maintenance costs associated with <br />maintaining a current repository, in July 1996, OWC entered into <br />a Memorandum of Understanding with the American Water <br />Works Association WaterWiser Clearinghouse (AWWA), <br />A WW A has incorporated all OWC documents into its <br />clearinghouse database, which is available via Internet, fax, mail, <br />email and through a toll free number. Annual reports on <br />requested information is provided by A WW A to OWC. <br /> <br />To further enhance the educational informational aspects <br />of the program, numerous brochures have been developed by <br />OWC, Brochures are available concerning water audits, grant <br />recipients, plumbing, laws and ordinances, landscape irrigation, <br />xeriscape gardens, commercial/industrial conservation, sod and <br />seed businesses, xeriscape nurseries, leak detection, indoor water <br />saving tips, showerheads, toilets, xeriscape reading source, <br />xeriscape landscaping and other educational materials, The <br />documentation is available to the public on request or via the <br />CWCB's Internet site, <br /> <br />... it <br />-.v' <br /> <br />Through a low cost MOU <br />with the AWWA <br />Water Wiser <br />Clearinghouse, owe was <br />able to provide easy access <br />via the Internet to the <br />public on water use <br />efficiency documentation, <br />The public can now easily <br />receive water efficiency <br />information from their <br />home or office on a wide <br />range of topics including: <br /> <br />Industrial/commercial <br />Public information. <br />Residential conservation <br />tips <br />Residential irrigation <br />Reuse/recycling <br />Water usage <br />Water conservation in the <br />west <br />Youth education <br />
