Evans
Acting Director, CWCB

Representative Gotlieb presented House Bill 99-1054 "concerning the repeal of
sunset dates associated with the operation of water conservation programs" to the House
Agriculture Committee on January 14, 1999. After having a bit of fun at her expense, the
Committee voted unanimously to move the bill to the full House or Representatives with
a favorable recommendation. The bill is currently scheduled for second reading on
Tuesday, January 19th.

Based upon discussions with Representative Gotlieb, Senator Chlouber (our
Senate sponsor) and various lobbyists, I do not expect any significant concerns or
complications as this bill moves through the rest of the legislative process.

A copy of the bill is attached for your reference, along with a copy of the
streamlined final report, an excerpt of the programs authorizing provisions from the
Colorado Revised Statutes.

Attachments

L:/boardmemlJan99/19a
