Now if those of us who are interested
in the development of our oil shale resources,
our coal hydrogenation, our timber resources
and all that, do not counteract the influence
of these professional wildlifers; it puts our
administrative agencies in an impossible posi-
tion in trying to defend the multiple use of
our forests. I believe that this Board can
properly take a strong standm favor of the
multiple use of our water resources with uses
necessary to the development of our prosper-
ity ahead of recreational uses. If there is a
problem in water use, it seems to me that we
must put the bringing of water for the towns
or cities, for farms, for mining, ahead of
recreational uses."

"Glenn mentioned that I called his
attention to this meeting here in Denver.
That came from two sources, the National
Reclamation Association and the United States
Chamber of Commerce Natural Resources Council.

I might add to what Glenn said that here
about two years ago, in the national chambers,
some of us interested in water insisted that
they get a list of these various wildlife con-
servation organizations. Gentlemen, you would
be surprised at the interlocking directorate
on everyone of those organizations throughout
the United States.

I don't know whether it is proper or not,
and I am not trying to take Felix's peroga-
tive, but this Natural Resources Council was
the outgrowth of that Meeting here in Denver
and there were people there from California,
Arizona, Idaho, Washington, Oregon - allover
the west. They have set up an organization
which is not a crude thing. They are going
to have a small board, they are going to have
a board of rules committee similar to the one
in the Colorado Congress and it would seem
proper to me that this Board ought to have
some touch with that group because it may be
