"Are there any other comments on the
NRA convention? Let's take up the next
item on the agenda."

"Mr. Chaiman may I interrupt? This
has to do with another water meeting which,
of course, doesn't have the stature or
status of the NRA convention but it is of
interest to the Colorado River basin states.
It is the meeting of the Colorado River Water
Users' Association in Las Vegas, Nevada,the
4th and 5th of December. This is an annual
meeting or convention of representatives of
the seven Colorado River basin states. At
those meetings controversial subjects between
upper and lower basins are strictly taboo.
I haven't even been able to take a fallout
of California people which I have wanted to
do on occasion.

We are going to have a very interesting
program. There are two items that come to
mind - we are going to have a panel discussion
of the Wilderness Bill with two proponents
and two opponents taking part with a moderator
who knows his stuff. We had some difficulty,
I might say, in finding two proponents to
appear for that bill in the west, but we
finally solved the problem. Another item is
the report from the' U. S. G. S. and the Bureau
of Reclamation and others, on the latest de-
velopment on experimentation on the control
of evaporation in reservoirs, and other sub-
jects such as that.

I simply want to say to the Board members
that the Association would be pleased to have
as many as possible attend this meeting."
